Carol Voss is a soprano specializing in dramatic and spinto repertoire - especially works by Verdi, Wagner, Strauss and Puccini. Carol has performed in Seattle Opera's Der fliegende Holländer and Aida and was the cover for Jane Eaglen’s performance of Wagner’s Wesendonck lieder with the Pacific Northwest Ballet. Most recently, Carol performed as "Elektra" for the Seattle Opera Guild Previews singing excerpts from Strauss' Elektra.Carol has enjoyed performing with the Skagit Opera in public and fundraising concerts singing excerpts from Aida, Ariadne auf Naxos, and Andrea Chenier. She has performed “Donna Anna” in a concert version of Don Giovanni and has sung in numerous recital programs. Carol received her degree from Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Upon graduation, she performed with the Dallas Opera Chorus for four seasons singing in over 15 productions of Italian, German, French, Russian and English operatic works. Besides singing opera repertoire, Carol is a composer and has produced a CD of her own compositions called StarSongs as well as writing a French song cycle which she debuted in Graz, Austria. Carol also composed music and orchestrated the Latin text, Pie Jesu, which was then choreographed and performed by Moving Collaborations Dance Company in Dallas. |
